April is one of my favorite times to visit the parks in Utah because the weather is a little more mild and there are less crowds and tourists than more popular times! We had stunning weather for this Zion National Park Elopement and a full day to adventure all around inside the park and celebrate their love.
We started out the day with them getting ready at Zion Lodge, the only lodging inside Zion National Park, which was so nice to be able to already be inside the park to start out the day easy and relaxed. After hair and makeup and the finishing touches of getting ready, they shared a first look by the Virgin River near the start of the Emerald Pools Trailhead right outside the lodge.
After their first look we started out by exploring the easy paved path along the Pa’rus trail near the visitor center to get some incredible views of the mountains. We also had to stop by the ZNP entrance sign for a few classic photo keepsakes for their Zion National Park Elopement!
From there we took the shuttle up to the furthest point in the park where they were having their Zion National Park Elopement ceremony at the Temple of Sinawava. This is such an incredible location surrounded by the expansive natural amphitheater of the canyon along the Virgin River. This is one of only a few places where you are allowed to hold wedding ceremonies inside the park, and it’s definitely one of my favorites because of the epic views and easy shuttle access. This is also a popular spot because its the location for the trailhead of the famous Narrows trail so it can be busy at times but since they eloped on a weekday in spring we lucked out with not too many crowds and had some privacy for their ceremony by the river.
After the ceremony, we stopped back by the lodge and they celebrated with a small picnic and cake on the Zion Lodge Lawn.
Then we ventured to our final stop of the day, hiking the short trail of Zion Canyon Overlook to watch gorgeous spring sunset with the iconic canyon views. And truly even though the whole day of their adventure elopement was epic, this was probably my favorite part! Every time I visit Canyon Overlook I am just overwhelmed by the beauty in Zion.
I already can’t wait to go back to capture another dream destination elopement in Zion! Check out some of my resources for more information on eloping!
