Josh & Fionna decided on a Baltimore City Courthouse elopement in late September with just their immediate families. They got married on the six-year anniversary of their first date which was really special. While they are planning a more traditional wedding in the Philippines after they graduate, they didn’t want to wait to start their next chapter and decided to elope!
I loved that even though they are planning another wedding later on, they wanted this one to be just as special and memorable. So we talked through some of their favorite places and activities and created a plan for their Baltimore City elopement that meshed together their desire for privacy and adventure while also wanting to find ways to honor and involve their families in the day.
Josh & Fionna knew they wanted to see each other privately for the first time on their wedding day once they were all dressed and ready. I scouted a spot near their hotel that I thought would work out great for their first look but it was pretty unconventional so I’m glad they trusted me and shared their first look on the top of a parking garage. It was such a cool view of some Baltimore buildings near the water and because it was empty it was a great spot for them to share their private vows with each other too.
Afterward, we met up with their families to take some portraits and go to the Baltimore City Courthouse for their elopement ceremony. While in Maryland couples generally don’t need to sign their license, the court had them sign a registar with all the other couples that got married there which I thought was a special touch.
After the ceremony, they celebrated with their families and we went on our own adventure in one of my favorite Baltimore neighborhoods, Mt. Vernon. We walked along the cobblestone streets and admiring the historic buildings together. After we went into the Walters Art Museum to explore and take in the art and have some unique locations for their elopement portraits. They also found a quiet spot in the museum to share a first dance which was really sweet. After the museum, Josh and Fionna met up with their families for a delicious celebratory brunch!
This was such a sweet morning and I loved the simplicity and beauty of their Baltimore City courthouse elopement and Walters Art Museum wedding portraits.
