Polly + Anthony’s Elopement Story

I first met Polly + Anthony in a cute little coffee shop in Pikesville and got to hear all about their love story + wedding plans. Any fan of The Office would appreciate that the start of their relationship looked a lot like Jim + Pam’s. Starting as co-workers their interest grew as they became friends outside of work for happy hours and tennis matches and eventually started dating. They both have a huge love for travel and have already been all over the world together- Ireland, England, Scotland, Greece, and they even got engaged on top of a picturesque mountain in a cute little town in the middle of the Swiss Alps! 

Their wedding was set for May at Main Street Ballroom in Ellicott City. They loved the industrial-chic vibe of the venue and were so excited to see their fun, laid-back vision come to life with all of their family + friends. 

Then in March, the US was hit hard by COVID-19, and they, unfortunately, had to rethink all of their wedding plans. While they decided to reschedule their big wedding to later this fall, they wanted to still get legally married on their original wedding date and celebrate with the immediate family that was allowed to be there for an elopement style ceremony. Their micro-wedding ceremony looked so much different than they could’ve imagined- with social distancing guidelines in place, masks, and a 10 person limit, but it was still filled with so much love and celebration that not even the Coronavirus could cancel. At a family friend’s property, they said their vows with an intimate gathering in person and broadcasted over Zoom to more family and friends that couldn’t be there with them because of the quarantine.  

This was such a special moment to be a part of and a unique reminder that there is beauty to be found even when things don’t go as planned. Plus, I feel like their BIG celebration in the fall is going to be filled with even more excitement and anticipation and I can’t wait!
